Let's spot the pinchos! On the blue plate clockwise from the top:

1. Unidentified deep fried thing. Any ideas anyone?
2. A tortilla? Looks a bit cakey...
3. Something hiding under a heap of dry cured ham
4. Tadpole fritter with a piquillo pepper
5. Chunks of manchego cheese with slow cooked caramelised onion
6. Elvers with another piece of piquillo. They look like real ones rather than the extruded fish counterfeits, so it must be a good place.
7. A pimiento del Padron, skewered to a slide of fried aubergine.

That's really only three that I'm confident of. Can anyone do better?

They do something similar in Venice called cicchetti and they're always delicious. They're not always on bread though. I agree that British pinchos would go down a storm.

Best of luck in spain... now hurry up and cook something else!

The combination of drinking and eating is a pefect marriage, but outside of Spain almost only found in restaurants. I can completely relate to the crisps thing. Good luck in Spain.
